Kate Treat, MA, CRC's Biography

I graduated from Maryville University with my M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling back in 2012 and am a current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.  After graduating, I moved out to Colorado and worked for a Community Centered Board called The Resource Exchange. My responsibilities centered on supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, monitoring their service provision,  and ensuring their success in achieving a wide range of personal and employment goals. I later accepted a position as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Colorado where my main role was to assist individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining employment. Upon moving back to Missouri, I have been working as an Employment Specialist assisting individuals with finding competitive employment that is in align with their strengths, interests, abilities, and limitations. After working in this position for a little over 2 years with MERS Goodwill, I am in the process of transitioning into my new role as the Coordinator of our Autism Program.  I would love to be more involved with MRA, as I am very passionate about the rehabilitation field and the work that we do each and every day.  As a side note, I am totally the exception to most people in our field as I LOVE the paperwork and taking notes and writing notes! Thus, being a secretary would be right up my alley! J
